Autumn Povitsky is a high-achieving, booked and busy, straight-A nightmare. She’s currently having a crisis of self—she needs a fake ID ASAP—but because she’s a total square, she has no idea where to get one.
Enter buzzcut hottie Tara Esposito. She’s a rule breaker and party crasher of the highest degree, and if anyone knows where to get a fake, it’s her. But Tara has hung up her James Dean leather jacket for the night. If she doesn’t finish this godforsaken essay that’s already weeks late, she can kiss her upcoming graduation goodbye.
One brainy girl who needs a fake ID before sundown. One serial rebel who needs to turn in an essay before sunrise. It’s obvious what needs to happen here. But with a years-long feud keeping the girls from working together, this may be a night to forget…or one they’ll remember forever.
Short and Sweet Review
Autumn is book smart and great when it comes to academics, but when a college student mistakes her as a fellow college student and invites her out Autumn continues the lie and now she needs a fake ID. Tara is a rule breaker and she would be the one who knows where to get a fake ID but for the night she’s out of commission as she has an essay to write and turn in, otherwise she won’t graduate. These girls have been feuding for years but tonight they need each other’s help.
All-Nighter follows Autumn and Tara who are complete opposites and rivals, but on this one fateful night of their senior year they realize that they’re each other’s only hope to get what they want. Tara needs Autumns brains to help write this essay and be able to participate in graduation and Autumn needs Tara’s contact to help her get a fake ID. Over the course of the book these two realize that their distain for each other was unfounded and they may even like each other. The beginning of the book introduces us to our main characters and shows how different they are from each other, Autumn works at the local library and is into academics and Tara is more of a slacker and has more of a rough around the edges type of vibe. When Autumn has a conversation with a college student who invites her to an event she knows she needs a Fake ID to get into this place so she asks for Tara’s help. I liked that this book took place over one night and the two girls get into a lot of shenanigans over the night and that was fun to see. The characters didn’t feel different from each other and just in general the book was not memorable. I read this book a few days ago and all I can tell you is a general idea of the plot. The characters didn’t stick out and the plot seems like something you can find in a teen movie.
Overall, this book just wasn’t for me but I can see others enjoying it.
