When seventeen-year-old Ashley Watson walks through the halls of her high school, bullies taunt and shove her. She can't go a day without fighting with her mother. And no matter how hard she tries, she can't make her best friend, Matt, fall in love with her. But Ashley also has something no one else does: a literal glimpse into the future. When Ashley looks into the mirror, she can see her twenty-three-year-old self.
Her older self has been through it all already--she endured the bullying, survived the heartbreak, and heard every ugly word her classmates threw at her. But her older self is also keeping a dark secret: Something terrible is about to happen to Ashley. Something that will change her life forever. Something even her older self is powerless to stop.
When Ashley looks in the mirror, she can see herself six years in the future.  This made Every Ugly Word so unique and intriguing. I loved Ashley’s interactions with “Older Me.”  They made me remember my high school years, which were not always great, the emotions of both present-day Ashley and future Ashley jumped off the pages. I found myself tearing up several times while reading Every Ugly Word, because of how worried I was about Ashley. The growth in Ashley and the Emotion was great. I would recommend this book to my friends.

And, when her zombied body pulls up a news article on her laptop about a boy named Jonathan Miller who was recently in a car crash—she’s . . . intrigued. When the zombie chooses another host, Amy learns that the zombie is actually teen Jonathan Miller, son of the famous Maisy's Meow comic creator Jacob Miller. Jonathan tells Amy he doesn’t know whether he’s dead or alive, only that when he’s not in a body, she is the only one who seems to know he exists. Amy decides to help Jonathan discover what happened to him and, when they can’t find his body, they try to find a substitute—preferably one that isn’t occupied. On the journey, Jonathan leads Amy into all kinds of danger. To her surprise, he also leads her heart to somewhere unexpected. She’s always heard of love at first sight, not love at first fright, but how can Amy be falling for a boy she’s never even seen?

Amy and her friends play with a Ouija board and weird things start to happen to Amy, like pencils moving, and feeling like someone is watching her. When Amy’s body is taken over by a ghost she tries to figure out what it wants. The ghost pulls up an article about a boy named Jonathan Miller, Amy is interested and decides to help Jonathan find his body.  However, when Amy and Jonathan can’t find his body they end up on an adventure to find one that he can use. I loved See Me it’s a Must Read. It was a short and captivating read. Once I really got into it I couldn’t stop reading it. I fell in love with Amy and Jonathan especially how their connection grew during their journey of trying to find Jonathan a body. I also liked Amy’s friends even though they didn’t believe Amy at first they stuck by her side and helped her. The ending was AMAZING! See Me is a book I would read again I would recommend this book!

Mallory's life is falling apart. Her boyfriend was stabbed. He bled to death in her kitchen. Mallory was the one who stabbed him. But she can't remember what happened that night. She only remembers the fear . . . When Mallory's parents send her away to a boarding school, she thinks she can escape the gossip and the threats. But someone, or something, has followed her. There's the hand that touches her shoulder when she's drifting off to sleep. A voice whispering her name. And everyone knows what happened. So when a pupil is found dead, Mallory's name is on their lips. Her past can be forgotten but it's never gone. Can Mallory live with that?

After the incident Mallory’s parents decide to send her to Monroe a prep school to get away from everything back home. However, she can’t help but feel that her ex-boyfriend’s ghost has followed her. She can hear his heartbeat. She has the impression of a hand indented on her shoulder from where she’s being grabbed by his ghost. Not long after Mallory arrives, another pupil is found dead in her room. Mallory claims she was sleeping and can’t remember anything. I really liked Mallory as a character and Reid, her new love interest, is a great, loyal guy. The thing I loved most about the book is the face that Mallory doesn’t really remember the details of the night she killed Brian but throughout the book she has flashbacks of that night. I’m pretty sure there won’t be a sequel to this book but if there was I would buy it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes Romance, Thriller, and Mystery.

Falcon Lake will have its vengeance.

When everyone thought Delaney was going to die, Decker made a bargain. Anyone but her. Everyone but her.

He never realized someone might actually be listening.

Carson pulled Delaney out of the frozen water of Falcon Lake, and he died on the side of the road with his mouth pressed to hers. Troy tried to recreate Delaney’s accident, and the lake took him instead. All the talk about a curse doesn’t shake Decker, until yet another unthinkable tragedy strikes and there’s just too much coincidence and death for Decker to take . . . and too much anger.

Because Delaney knew it was coming, and she never said a word. Falcon Lake still has a hold on them both, and Decker can’t forgive Delaney until he knows why.

Vengeance by Megan Miranda is the sequel to Fracture, and this time the book is in Decker’s point of view. After the events from the last book everyone thinks Falcon Lake is haunted and is waiting to get its revenge. Decker loses someone close to him and Delaney knew it would happen, so Decker takes his anger out on Delaney, until mysterious things start to happen to them and their friends. Of course after these things start to happen everyone thinks the curse of Falcon Lake is coming to get them, and it’s especially trying to get Delaney.

In this book Decker has a lot of anger towards Delaney for keeping a secret from him. He acts harshly towards her, but you can tell deep down he really cares about her. The rest of the characters in the book set the tone of the book because they honestly feel like the curse is coming for them and now they have this fear towards Falcon Lake. Vengeance for me was a page turner because I couldn’t wait to read what was going to happen next. Vengeance had an unexpected but great ending. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal, thrillers, and mysteries. If Megan Miranda wrote another book I would buy it. (;

When Decker found Delaney kissing his best friend Carson, he told himself that it meant nothing. But then Carson calls to Delaney from across the vast frozen lake. Jealous, Decker insists they walk over the fragile ice. Halfway, he leaves her there . . . Ten minutes without air, Delaney will be dead. Decker pulls her out of the icy waters after eleven. Delaney is alive, but now she is drawn to those who are dying . . . and to stranger, Troy - someone Decker should see as a threat.

After Delaney fell into Falcon Lake something changed. Delaney can now sense when someone is about to die. Most of Delaney’s friends start to distance themselves from her because it seems like people around her die. When Delaney was at the hospital she met Troy. At first Troy seemed like a great friend for Delaney because he has the same ability as her. I liked Delaney’s character she’s smart and curious. Troy’s character seemed nice at first but towards the end he has some scary secrets he hasn’t told anyone. I really like this book. The ending is great I got chills reading it, its unexpected. I would and I did buy the sequel to this book which is Vengeance and it’s in Delaney’s friend Decker’s point of view. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Mysteries, and Thrillers.

Tells in alternating chapters of prose and free verse what happens when privileged, sixteen-year-old Dorothy falls in love with Joey, an abused teenager with a violent past.

Told in dual first person, Joey’s words are scattered on the page – reflecting his broken state. Dorothy is the voice of reason – until something so shattering happens that she, too, may lose her grip. Can their love endure, or will it melt away?
Melt was an amazing read, I think It’s one of my new favorites for this year. The prologue of this book was so gripping after I read it I could not put this book down. We were first introduced to Joey, a teen that has a bad reputation and a bad situation at home. Then there’s Dorothy, the sweet girl who’s new to town. When Joey and Dorothy are together they have this amazing chemistry that just clicks. The book has two points of view Joey’s and Dorothy’s. Joey’s point of view was so heart breaking I felt like I was there with him seeing what he saw. I loved Dorothy’s point of view too but I just preferred Joey’s. The writing is amazing I felt like I was there with the characters. I had so many emotions while reading this book. I absolutely loved this book and would recommend it!

A 300 year old curse... Bernadette's Curse Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. In the 1700s, Bernadette loved young Walter Doherty more than life itself, but when he chose another to be his bride, she vowed on his wedding day that the union would be cursed forever and that if a daughter was born unto them, the eldest would know her fate upon her sixteenth birthday and every generation afterward. 30 days to live... Dodie Jenks is your typical teenager until she learns of the three hundred year old curse that will claim her on her sixteenth birthday. She doesn't want to believe this is her fate, but what if it's true? Visiting a seer does no good. She's warned to not try to break the curse. Her family struggles to keep her alive, but none of them are prepared for what lies ahead. One Hot Warlock... Leopold. A powerful warlock seeking to regain acceptance by his coven agrees to help Dodie and her family try to break Bernadette's Curse. At eighteen he's a college graduate and a social outcast. He's awkward around others, but somehow he and Dodie connect on a personal level as he works to keep her alive.

Dodie is a typical teenager until her family tells her that she is destined to die at 16. One of Dodie’s distant relatives did something to get a curse put on the oldest daughter and every generation afterward. Now Dodie has to suffer the consequences. Dodie’s family hires a warlock, Leopold in an effort to escape the curse. Dodie and Leopold had an awkward and cute relationship I liked it. I really enjoyed this book. After finishing the book I’m still not sure who can be trusted and who can’t. This book left off on a cliff hanger and I would definitely read the rest of the series.

Kacie Ramsey sees ghosts—and it's ruining her life. Her mother left, her father blames her, and no matter how hard she tries, she can't keep the ghosts away. Now a new power has emerged. Nightly visions of grisly murders and a relentless predator draw her to the brink of insanity.
When the phantom appears at a party, Kacie's longtime crush, Logan, saves her. He invites her to join the Orion Circle, a group of supernatural hunters with chapters in schools all over the country. Through the Circle, Kacie learns to embrace her spiritual powers, and for the first time in her life she feels in control rather than a victim. But the Foxblood Demon will not give up so easily. A demented serial killer in life who trapped the souls of the thirteen children he murdered, imprisoning them within the walls of his mansion. Now in death, he plots his return while drawing power from the pure souls of the children. He recognizes something in Kacie he's never seen before—a medium powerful enough to provide a vessel for his tainted soul. Kacie can't ignore the tortured souls of the children crying out to her every night. With Logan at her side, she will fight the Foxblood Demon. But can they banish this powerful phantom, or will Kacie lose not only her body, but her eternal soul to the monster.

Tortured Souls is about a girl named Kacie who can see ghosts. Kacie finds out she’s not the only one when Logan sees a spirit following her. Logan then introduces Kacie to the Orion Circle a group of students at her school that are supernatural hunters. Kacie feels at home with the group but there is still a spirit after her and she has to stop it before it claims her body. I really enjoyed this book. It was creepy at times but it was a fun read. I liked the relationship between Kacie and Logan, he was always there for her and supporting her. I also liked the members of the Orion Circle. The one thing I didn’t like was when Kacie would be immature about some things. I’m looking forward to the rest of the books in this series.

The detective, Thaddeus Rec, is accused of stealing the diamond for himself. Thad ends up losing his job over this. Remy and Thad team up to find the real culprit, to clear Thad’s name. The Diamond Thief is a fun and enjoyable book. I loved the premise and the characters. I would read the sequel.
