Bradley Graeme is pretty much perfect. He’s a star football player, manages his OCD well (enough), and comes out on top in all his classes . . . except the ones he shares with his ex-best friend, Celine.
Celine Bangura is conspiracy-theory-obsessed. Social media followers eat up her takes on everything from UFOs to holiday overconsumption—yet, she’s still not cool enough for the popular kids’ table. Which is why Brad abandoned her for the in-crowd years ago. (At least, that’s how Celine sees it.)
These days, there’s nothing between them other than petty insults and academic rivalry. So when Celine signs up for a survival course in the woods, she’s surprised to find Brad right beside her.
Forced to work as a team for the chance to win a grand prize, these two teens must trudge through not just mud and dirt but their messy past. And as this adventure brings them closer together, they begin to remember the good bits of their history. But has too much time passed . . . or just enough to spark a whole new kind of relationship?
Short and Sweet Review
Celine and Brad used to be friends, now they’re enemies, and after a survival course in the woods they may become a couple.
Brad is a football player, he’s cool and hangs out with the popular kids. Celine on the other hand is obsessed with conspiracy theories and has a pretty big social media following. These two aren’t friends after Celine feels like Brad left her for the cool kids a few years ago. Now these two are in the same class and there’s weird tension and to make things worse Celine signs up for a survival course and Brad also gets in which means they have to work together.
This book was cute, it was your normal enemies to lovers troupe. This book is pretty easy to fly through. Brad and Celine go to the woods for a survival course where they realize that they still do want to be friends, maybe even more than friends. These two work together and in the end someone from the survival group could win a grand prize. We see a lot of bonding going on between these two and I feel like Brad knew that he wanted to be with Celine before she realized her feelings. Brad also has OCD which he actually manages pretty well and Celine has her big social media following where she talks about conspiracy theories, I wish there was more talk about that. My favorite thing was Brad’s realization about what he actually wants to do in the future and Celine has the realization that just because she wants to be a lawyer doesn’t mean she needs to follow in her dads footsteps. This is a cute young adult romance that you’ll be able to fly through.
