When eighteen-year-old Lexi foresees the brutal murder of a young woman outside a club in downtown L.A., she is powerless to stop it.

But then the girl’s ghost appears, seeking vengeance, and Lexi is swept into a dangerous search that could put her directly in the path of a serial killer. From the author of Devils Unto Dust, this fast-paced and literary thriller will haunt fans of Maureen Johnson’s Truly Devious and Karen M. McManus’s One of Us Is Lying.

With a touch, Lexi can sense how and when someone will die. Some say it’s a gift. But to Lexi it’s a curse—one that keeps her friendless and alone. All that changes when Lexi foresees the violent death of a young woman, Jane, outside a club.

Jane doesn’t go to the afterlife quietly. Her ghost remains behind, determined to hunt down her murderer, and she needs Lexi’s help. In life, Jane was everything Lexi is not—outgoing, happy, popular. But in death, all Jane wants is revenge.

Lexi will do anything to help Jane, to make up for the fact that she didn’t—couldn’t—save Jane’s life, and to keep this beautiful ghost of a girl by her side for as long as possible.

Short and Sweet

Lexi has the ability to see when people are going to die and how they’re going to die just by touching them. When Lexi foresees the death of a girl outside of a club, and then sees her ghost a few days later Lexi knows she has to help the ghost move on, but first the ghost wants to find her killer.

Characters

Lexi: Lexi is our main character and she comes off as rude and she pushes people away and this is because of her ability. Lexi doesn’t like her ability she doesn’t find it useful and its mainly unpleasant, because who wants to see how people die? Lexi also has the ability to send ghost away into the afterlife if they want it and if not she can do it anyway. I thought Lexi was mainly misunderstood because she’s standoffish. Lexi is also smart even though she didn’t finish high school she has a love for science.

Jane: Jane is our ghost. When Jane was alive she was described as full of life but as a ghost she’s ready for vengeance. Jane has trouble remembering what happened that night so Lexi has to help her by walking her through what happened that night. Jane was an okay character there wasn’t much development, she was a ghost bent on revenge and she liked Lexi and seemed to care for her.

Romance

Lexi and Jane: This is an interesting relationship to say the least, I mean one is dead and the other is alive. Umm Lexi comes to like Jane the more they spend time together and I think it was the same for Jane, they were an okay couple but they did have a few things about them that bothered me. One, Jane didn’t know that Lexi foresaw her death. Two, they both get angry at each other pretty quick, but makeup just as quick.

My Thoughts

~ Lexi works at a club and all of her coworkers also have abilities some are psychics, healers, and witches.

~ I liked Lexi’s grandfather he also has the same ability I feel like he felt bad that she inherited the gift.

~ Lexi has a roommate named Trevor who so happens to be a ghost and I loved him he cared about Lexi and made sure she was okay and was willing to help her when she needed it.

~ So Jane wasn’t the only person who was killed there have been others and Janes death started the investigation into the missing and murdered people because Lexi saw her ghost and they both wanted to find who could have done it.

~ There’s not much I can really saw about the book because I don’t feel like it was long but, the characters were okay, the mystery was good, I wasn’t expecting what happened in the end and thats the whole book to me.

Overall

I thought this was a good book I enjoyed it but it wasn’t anything special it was just another ghost story with a side of mystery. I thought the mystery aspect was good I wasn’t sure who did so that’s always a good thing. So if you enjoy books with a vengeful ghost, a main character who doesn’t like using her ability, and a mystery then check this book out.
