Mo Fitzgerald knows about secrets. But when she witnesses her best friend's murder, she discovers Verity was hiding things she never could have guessed. To find the answers she needs and the vengeance she craves, Mo--quiet, ordinary, unmagical Mo--will have to enter a world of raw magic and shifting alliances. And she'll have to choose between two very different, equally dangerous guys--protective, duty-bound Colin and brash, mysterious Luc.
One wants to save her, one wants to claim her. Which would you choose?

Short and Sweet Review

When Mo witnesses the murder of her best friend, Verity, the last thing she expects is for how her life is going to change. Mo learns about another world that involves magic and Mo vows to get revenge on those who murdered Verity. After Verity’s murder, Mo’s already protective family becomes even more protective they even hire Colin to watch over her. But Colin isn’t the only boy around Mo, Luc a mysterious guy who seems to know what Verity was hiding is also sticking around. I liked this book although it wasn’t my favorite it took me a lot longer than I thought it would to really get into it. Mo is a normal girl, its her senior year of high school, but some things are hard for her because of her uncle’s affiliation with the mob. The affiliation with the mob makes things more complicated when the cops are looking for the murder suspect because they’re looking at someone in the mob but theres more to it than that. I wish that we get to see more of the paranormal aspects earlier in the book. I didn’t like the love triangle because I couldn’t decide which boy Mo should end up with, Colin is protective, and Luc was mysterious. I enjoyed this book and thought it was interesting that Mo has to adjust to this new life full of magic and has to try to navigate it. I will be reading the next book in the series and hopefully I will be able to get into it more than this one.

Resonance is the thrilling sequel to Dissonance and it isn’t a disappointment.

As a Walker between worlds, Del is responsible for the love of her life and the fate of millions. In Dissonance Del risked everything to save Simon, and now he’s gone, off in another world with no way for Del to find him. Del is back at the Consort training to be a Walker like everyone in her family. But the Free Walkers have other plans for her. This rebel group is trying to convince Del that the Consort is evil, and that her parents are unknowingly helping the Consort kill millions of people. The Free Walkers make Del the ultimate promise: if Del joins their fight, she will be reunited with Simon. In agreeing, Del might be endangering her family. But if she doesn’t, innocent people will die, and Simon will be lost forever. The fate of the multiverse depends on her choice.

Del is still grieving from Simon’s departure into a different world, but she refuses to believe he is gone forever. When the Free Walkers reach out to Del and tell her that Simon might be safe, Del wants proof. Del must choose to help the Free Walkers and see Simon – or work for the Consort. With Monty in an oubliette and Lattimer forcing Del to interrogate Monty about the “weapon” the Free Walkers have, Del knows what she will do. Worlds are at stake, lives are at stake, Del’s life is at stake, but nothing will stop her from righting wrongs and stopping the destruction of the multiverse.

I still remember when I read Dissonance and my heart was broken over the ending. It didn’t take long, once I started reading Resonance, for O’Rourke to piece my heart back together. Del finds out that there is a chance that Simon is alive and unharmed; she fights to know more, to find him, and to bring him back. So many secrets are revealed in this book, and many surround Simon.

There were so many twists in this book, so many secrets! A lot of things started to come together and make sense. I Loved it!

In Dissonance Del was impulsive and reckless, but by the end of Resonance, it’s clear that she has matured throughout the series, though she remains impulsive and temperamental. I liked Del in Dissonance, and I liked her in this book. She might be impulsive, but she’s a determined and strong young lady who knows how to make up her mind.

Simon is very much present throughout the book, in one way or another. It’s pretty interesting to see how O’Rourke brings him back into the story, and this occurs fairly quickly. Simon is his usual hilarious, overconfident self, and I love him!

I love the romance between Del and Simon, they’re magical together! And quite steamy, too. Simon is very laid back and a bit cocky, and Del is a rule-breaker and impulsive – the combination is really good! Both of them move worlds to find each other and both of them love with their whole hearts.

I would highly recommend Resonance and if you haven’t read Dissonance then you should read that too! Resonance is now one of my favorite books and Erica O’Rourke is one of my favorite authors! By the way guys this is a duology. Dissonance and Resonance are intriguing, exciting and highly original! Go check these books out!

In this inventive romantic thriller, Del has the power to navigate between alternate realities—and the power to save multiple worlds.Delancey knows for sure that there is more than one universe. Many more. Because every time someone makes a choice, a new, parallel world is spun off the existing one. Eating breakfast or skipping it, turning left instead of right, sneaking out instead of staying in bed—all of these choices create alternate universes in which echo selves take the roads not traveled. Del knows all of this because she’s a Walker, someone who can navigate between the worlds, and whose job is to keep the dimensions in harmony. But Del’s decisions have consequences too. Even though she’s forbidden from Walking after a training session goes horribly wrong, she secretly starts to investigate other dissonant worlds. She’s particularly intrigued by the echo versions of Simon Lane, a guy who won’t give her the time of day in the main world, but whose alternate selves are uniquely interested. But falling for Simon draws Del closer to a truth that the Council of Walkers is trying to hide—a secret that threatens the fate of the entire multiverse.

Synopsis: For Delancey Sullivan, alternate universes aren’t just a theory: they’re a way of life. Every time someone makes a choice—to eat breakfast or skip it, to sneak out or stay in bed—parallel realities are created, and echo versions of ourselves take the roads not traveled in the Key World. As a Walker, Del navigates between the Echoes, keeping the dimensions in harmony. But when her own choices go horribly wrong, she must decide between her heart and her duty—and live with the consequences.

I don’t even know where to start. This book was amazing! Del is a walker and a walkers job is to keep the key world safe. Del makes a mistake in one of the echoes and she is put on suspension. When Del realizes with the help of her friend Elliot that the mistake she made shouldn’t have happened she’s on a mission to find out what happened and how to fix it. The characters in this book are great. Del is a headstrong main character and will do things that are reckless if she thinks its going to benefit the people she loves. And Del’s love interest Simon was an interesting character. We don’t really get to know Simon at first but only his echoes Del sees in different dimensions. The romance between the two was sweet, I think they were a great couple. I really liked the secondary characters in this book and how they were treated. Elliot, Del’s friend, was such a sweet guy who was always their for his best friend. Addison, Del’s sister, came across as a perfectionist type snob at first, but we see deeper into her character as the book progresses and she proved to be a Walker who would do anything to ensure the safety of the Key World. I loved the relationship between Del and her grandpa Monty, who has a secret of his own. This book was a page turner, I was hooked. I’m ready for the sequel!
