Water from the Fountain of Youth is the only thing that can save Scarlet and her loved ones. But the water comes at a price. With lives--and hearts--at stake, Scarlet leads her friends on a dangerous journey to the Fountain of Youth. Where eternal life is possible, but death is certain.

Short and Sweet Review

Avow is the third and final book in The Archers of Avalon series. In this book Scarlet remembers everything. Now it’s Scarlet to find the Fountain of Youth and break the curse, and save Heather and Gabriel from Raven. I seriously loved this series when I finished the second book I bought this one right away and finished it in one day. This book was a page turner and I’m so glad that Scarlet remembers everything, and which Archer Brother she should really be with. Their journey to the Fountain of Youth had me worrying about their safety, I’ve come to love these characters so much. The plot is amazing and I enjoyed how this book held my attention the whole time. I don’t want to spoil anything because this is the last book but questions were answered and there were some twist. I love the romance in this book Scarlet and Tristan I ship it. I think everyone should give this trilogy a chance it’s one of my favorites!

Seventeen-year-old Scarlet has just died. Only, dying isn't unusual for a girl under a centuries old curse that left her semi-immortal. This time, though, she comes back to her current life instead of awaking in a new one, and she realizes her curse is changing. With the help of the immortal Archer brothers, Scarlet tries to piece together her life and break the curse before her impending death comes again.

Short and Sweet Review

In the sequel to Anew, Scarlet comes back to her current life instead of starting a new one. In this book there is a lot of flashbacks to Scarlet’s first life that answers a lot of questions about the curse on her and the Archer brothers. Awry switches back and forth between flashbacks of Tristan, Gabriel and Scarlet way back in the 1500s when they all first met and modern day when their lives are on the line. With a map to the fountain of youth they can’t read, an enemy that seems to know them way too well, and indestructible Ash Men pillaging their homes, this group is running out of time. If the motley crew of Nate the nerd, Heather the best friend, the two Archer brothers and Scarlet can’t find the fountain of youth in time, they might lose, not just one, but TWO of their members. But they aren’t the only ones looking for the fountain. Someone close to them is hunting it down as well, and will not hesitate to take a few lives if they stand in the way. I absolutely loved this book especially because Scarlet and Tristan’s bond is becoming a lot closer, even though he tries to push her away. This book does end with a cliffhanger but that doesn’t make it any less of a great book.

Two years ago, Scarlet awoke in the forest alone, afraid, and unable to remember anything. Lost and confused, her life was a mystery...until she met a boy with a familiar voice.

Gabriel Archer has a voice from her past, and Scarlet's determined to remember why. She immerses herself in his life only to discover he has a brother he's kept hidden from her: Tristan Archer.

Upon meeting Tristan, Scarlet's world becomes even more muddled. While she's instinctively drawn to Gabriel, she's impossibly drawn to Tristan--and confused out of her mind. As she tries to piece together her history Scarlet realizes her past...might just be the death of her.

Short and Sweet Review

Scarlet is seventeen, and two years ago she woke up in the woods of Avalon Georgia with no memory of who or where she came from. The only thing Scarlet does remember is her name, her age, and this image which she draws all the time. Laura, a high class business women, becomes her loving guardian and brings Scarlet into her home. Heather becomes Scarlet’s best friend and Laura and Heather are trying to help give Scarlet a new, meaningful life. Scarlet loves these two, but she still feels lost, until this very hot, gorgeous new guy in town talks to her, and his voice sounds familiar to her. Gabriel’s voice is a voice that makes Scarlet feel safe, normal, and a voice she can trust. But she just doesn’t know why. She feels this way with Gabriel, but when Scarlet meets Gabriel’s mysterious brother, Tristan, her world becomes a whole lot stranger when she hears Tristan voice. It definitely makes her feel things. With the Archers brothers, Scarlet is in for one cursed awakening. I personally like Tristan more, just can’t resist that dark bad-boy image. Gabriel and Tristan’s love for Scarlet had me swooning. I also love Heather. She’s the comic relief in this story, and she is what a best friend should be. Heather is not going to let anyone hurt her best friend, not even if Gabriel is one beautiful body that makes a pair of jeans look hot. Heather and Gabriel had me laughing my butt off, especially with them in the classroom. I loved this book and right after I read it I bought the sequel, Awry. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Fantasies and Romance.

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.

So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. They follow legends and local lore, destroy the murderous dead, and keep pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

Searching for a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas expects the usual: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

Yet she spares Cas's life.

Short and Sweet Review

Cas’s job is to kill the dead and that’s what he’ll do no matter the danger that’s involved. His job takes Cas and his mother to Canada, and this time his job is to kill Anna Korlov. Anna dressed in blood. Anna is different than any other ghost Cas has had to kill. Anna is powerful and she knows she’s dead. Cas won’t stop until he finds out is making Anna so powerful, and in the process he falls in love with her. In the end Anna isn’t the one Cas had to worry about. Cas and Anna really make this book. Cas has this creepy job of killing the dead and has to deal with all of the danger that comes with having to do that. And Anna has two sides to her the girl she was before she died and a girl who kills anyone who walks into her house. I loved this book, I couldn’t put it down I just needed to know what was going to happen next. The ending has a huge twist which I wasn’t ready for. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal, horror, and romance. I’m definitely going to get the second book which is Girl of Nightmares.

Months ago, Nicole Cassidy’s life was turned upside-down when she discovered that she was a witch descended from the Greek gods. She and the four other witches gifted with elemental powers fought all over the world—and in another dimension—to battle the supporters of the Titans and fight for the people they love.

Now the Elementals must stop Typhon—the most dangerous monster in the world—from rising, and seal the portal to the dangerous prison world of Kerberos. But they won’t be able to do that without facing their hardest decision yet… a sacrifice so great that it may be one they’re not willing to make.

Short and Sweet

Picking up right where we left off in the last book, Nicole has the chance to go back in time and fix her mistakes to save Blake’s life and Medusa’s head from being destroyed. Now her and the other Elementals have to finish their quest of stopping the Titans from rising.

My Thoughts

~ I loved this book but it was bittersweet. It’s the last book in the series, we lose a few characters, and sacrifices are made, but like all of the books they only get better and this was my favorite in the series.

~ When I started reading this book I had a few ideas about what I thought was going to happen but I was caught off guard by some of the twist. I don’t want to spoil anything but these twist were unexpected and I didn’t see anything coming.

~ The pace in this book was pretty fast. That being said I felt like some of the tasks the Elementals had to handle in the first half of the book were easy, but in the second half that’s when they had to deal with the bigger decisions that would impact their futures and lives.

~ I think the romance between characters in this book took a backseat mainly because they had bigger and better things to worry about and I didn’t really mind that.

~ This is hard for me to say but I did not like Nicole in this book. She was pretty selfish especially at the end. I mean I understand not wanting something to happen to your boyfriend but to act like someone else’s life isn’t as important just bothered me.

~ I loved Danielle, she seemed to be level-headed and always thought things through.

Overall

I loved watching these characters grow over these past five books and develop into the heroes they are now. This book was a crazy ride and left me speechless. It was a great ending to this series. I would recommend this series, these books aren’t long and you can just breeze through them. If you like mythology and witches and quest then pick this series up!

The crooked-smiling liar River West Redding, who drove into Violet's life one summer day and shook her world to pieces, is gone. Violet and Neely, River's other brother, are left to worry—until they catch a two a.m. radio program about strange events in a distant mountain town. They take off in search of River but are always a step behind, finding instead frenzied towns, witch hunts, and a wind-whipped island with the thrum of something strange and dangerous just under the surface. It isn't long before Violet begins to wonder if Neely, the one Redding brother she thought trustworthy, has been hiding a secret of his own . . .

Short and Sweet

After the events from the last book Violet can’t stop thinking about River. The gang decides to leave Citizen Kane and go looking for River in different towns where strange things are happening.

My Thoughts

~ My favorite part of this book was the road trip the group is following leads to different places just to find River. The gang gets these leads from a radio show that only Neely and Violet are into listening.

~ We meet new characters in these towns where the gang visits. I feel like Violet is way too trusting of strangers. I don’t want to spoil anything but if you read the book you’ll know what I mean.

~ Violet finds Freddie’s diary and learns more about her grandmothers past and about her experiences with the “glow.”

~ I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first book. The world building was amazing. We get to go to mountains, towns near the sea, and another quint town that resembles Echo.

~ There was more character development in this book. Violet was more brave and tried to take things head on and Neely gets more of a focus in this book.

~ I didn’t like the romance in this book either. Violet was with Neely a lot in this book and I think she was just using him until she got back to River.

~ I liked Neely, we learn he has a lot of love for his family especially his brothers. Neely would use his power to counteract what his brother’s power was doing, even if it was slowly killing him.

Overall

This sequel is worth the read! The writing in this book is beautiful. The ending was a bit open ended and left you to use your imagination as to what would happen next. This book was enjoyable and entertaining. Check this duology out if you haven’t!!!

Nothing much exciting rolls through Violet White's sleepy, seaside town... until River West comes along. River rents the guesthouse behind Violet's crumbling estate, and as eerie, grim things start to happen, Violet begins to wonder about the boy living in her backyard. Is River just a crooked-smiling liar with pretty eyes and a mysterious past? Or could he be something more? Violet's grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who takes naps in the sun, who likes coffee, who kisses you in a cemetery...who makes you want to kiss back. Violet's already so knee-deep in love, she can't see straight. And that's just how River likes it.

Short and Sweet

Violet White and her brother Luke have lived in Echo their whole life. When their parents travel around the world to get inspiration for their art they leave the twins by themselves in the small town. When a mysterious and gorgeous boy named River rents the room in mansion, Violet realizes he’s not just any normal boy.

My Thoughts

~ The setting is what made the story for me, the atmosphere in the town was creepy and this small town had a lot of secrets.

~ Violet was a unique main character she was very perspective and always noticed the smallest details.

~ I didn’t like the romance between Violet and River, it felt like River was using his powers to make Violet do things.

~ When River arrives in town strange things start happening like kids hunting the devil in the graveyard.

~ River’s power was weird and it was hard for me to understand, he could manipulate what people saw and felt, especially Violet. I didn’t like how Violet knew that River was manipulating her feelings but did nothing about it.

~ There were quite a few side characters so there wasn’t much room for character development in this book.

~ I was a bit annoyed with some characters, mainly Luke. I didn’t like some of the things he said to Violet and I feel like some of the other characters would pile onto his insults.

~ There were twist in the plot that I wasn’t expecting that kept me reading.

~ The ending was… I don’t know how to describe the ending. It just made you wonder who you could trust because most of the people in the town were being manipulated by these powers.

Overall

I enjoyed this book, it was different from anything I’ve read. What kept me reading was the intriguing plot and it made me want to know what was going to happen next. I plan on reading the sequel just to see how things plan out.

Someone you’ve loved for centuries suddenly disappears, utterly erased from history. No one but you has any memory of this beautiful person. No one but you is grieving. And no one but you can repair this devastating hole in the fabric of reality.
EMMA RUE is in the fight of her life, struggling to find her beloved soulmate, a vampire who has disappeared from everyone’s memories but her own. Her quest is complicated by an unexpected transformation in her body, as well as the intervention of her powerful nemesis…
ROWAN OF WILDWOOD, the Empress of Witches. Rowan has a madly ambitious plan to reshape the world with her shadow magic, and only Emma is standing in her way. But getting to Emma won’t be easy. Emma has loyal and vigilant friends, not the least of whom is…
STEFAN HILDEBRAND, a werewolf now dying from a shotgun wound. Desperate to protect Emma, he’ll do anything to claw his way back to life. But does that include making a devil’s bargain with an entity called the Trickster?

My Thoughts

~ Vampire Rising picks up right where Vampire soul ended, so there’s no confusion when you start reading this book.

~ All of the characters from the previous book return, we also get to meet a few new ones.

~ I loved experiencing Emma’s past lives with her. It was interesting to see how she lived before she became Emma Rue.

~ I felt bad for Emma she just found Julian only to lose him, and not only that she’s the only one who remembers that he exist. I’m glad Emma didn’t give up on Julian after his disappearance she tries everything she can to get him back.

~Emma has a lot to deal with in this book, she’s trying to find Julian and she’s becoming a transcendent again.

~ Stefan is back and he’s also going through a change after meeting a guy named the trickster. I love how protective Stefan is over Emma, he continues to help her and watch out for her.

~ Rowan is also back and she’s trying to get a weapon back from Emma, while she also works on some experiments.

~ There’s also references to some of the novellas which made me so happy.

Overall

I loved this book as much as the first one if not more! The world gets more complex and I loved meeting the new characters as they added more to the plot. Vampire Rising ended with a cliffhanger and I just want to know what happens next! I love Emma as a character and I can’t wait to continue this journey with the Heartblaze novels. With her mother's life hanging in the balance, Scarlett is devastated - and done with being in the dark. She wants answers, all of them.
But when was her pursuit of the truth ever straightforward?
Pulling a single thread impels a great unravelling. And each revelation will force Scarlett to rethink what she thought she knew about the Ceruleans, the Fallen, her family - herself.
All that came before was a mere prelude to this, the last journey. From London to Twycombe to Hollythwaite to Cerulea, Scarlett will be stalked by the ghosts of what has been, what may have been and what may come to pass. Until she reaches the place where it all began, and it all must end.
But in the final reckoning, none will survive unscathed. And some will not survive at all.

My Thoughts

~ This book starts where Devil and the Deep ended and its definitely a rollercoaster ride from the beginning.

~ Scarlett’s mother is in the hospital hanging onto life and Scarlett, Sienna, and Gabe are determined to find who did this to her. I was trying to figure out who did it and when I found out I was shocked it wasn’t who I thought it would be.

~ So many questions were answered in this book. We learn more about the Fallen and why they live the life they do, we also learn why Sienna made the choices she did.

~ This book was fast paced and there were a lot of twists that I wasn’t expecting.

~ I liked seeing how Scarlett has grown over the past four book, she has more confidence and has found her inner strength.

~ I have finally found my love for Luke. He’s still caring and protective, and I like how supportive he is of Scarlett.

~ I liked seeing Jude and Sienna together and to see how dynamic would work because Jude believes so strongly in the Cerulean beliefs. I would love to see a novella maybe of those two.

Overall

This is the final book in this series and I’m sad that it’s over. I loved going on a journey with Scarlett from learning she was a Cerulean to all the decisions she had to make afterwards and all of the things learned along the way. Darkly, Deeply, Beautifully was an amazing conclusion to an amazing series! There are five books in this series that should be read in order, I would recommend this series it’s definitely one of my favorites!!!

When Nicole Cassidy moved to a new town, she discovered that she was a witch descended from gods. But that was nothing compared to learning that it was up to her and four others with mysterious elemental powers to help save the world from the Titans, who would soon return to Earth.

Now her relationship with Blake -- the fire Elemental -- is finally heating up. But she must remain focused, because Typhon, one of the deadliest creatures in history, has escaped from the weakening prison world. Only one object can destroy him -- the head of Medusa herself.

Short and Sweet

The Elementals are back and with a whole new mission. The group has to stop Typhon’s Soul from reuniting from his body and the only way to stop this from happening is to find Medusa and get her head. With every choice the group makes they’re either saving the world or putting it in danger.

My Thoughts

~ In each book there’s more Greek mythology and it was interesting to learn more about each Greek figure the Elementals will encounter.

~ The romance between Nicole and Blake was definitely more prominent in this book. I really like their relationship and the little moments they shared especially when they support each other.

~ We get to see the group use their powers in more advanced ways, and it’s amazing to see how the group grows in each book.

~ My favorite thing about the books is seeing where the group will go they’re always going to different locations and its fun to see where they’ll end up next.

~ By the way I was trying to figure out who was on each book cover and then I realized that each characters element is behind them in the cover, super cool!

Overall

The Head of Medusa was fast paced, I finished it in one sitting. There were a lot of plot twist that I didn’t see coming, I’m looking forward to see what will happen in book four! These books are so much fun to read I love this series I would recommend the series!
