Short and Sweet Review

It’s been a year since Sam has died, and even though Oliver knows he won’t get a response he finds comfort in sending Sam’s number text messages with updates about his life. Unbeknownst to Oliver someone else now has Sam’s number, so when Oliver calls Sam’s number he’s surprised when someone else picks up. Oliver thinks he’s just going to have a short interaction but he and Ben continue to talk and basically hit it off. All is well until these two actually meet and even though it’s great, something weird is happening that might keep these two apart.

I’m sure I have a review for the first book on my site but it was not my favorite book, so I went into this book with low expectations. I honestly loved this book way more than I thought I would. The anniversary of Sam’s death is coming up so we can see how that has affected Oliver and we get some flashbacks of some of the things Oliver never got to say. Oliver was a good character, he was still trying to figure things out at this point in life and that’s explored more as the book goes on. I did like the interactions with Ben and Oliver, it was like they were made for each other. When Ben and Oliver meet it’s almost like the other one isn’t at the right place at the right time and they’re basically crossing into different timelines so that part of the plot was interesting to see. Oliver’s timeline is in the Spring and Ben’s is in the Fall of the year before, I liked this part of the plot because I was glued to my seat trying to figure out how they were going to remedy this and if it could even be fixed at all. I enjoyed seeing all of the time Ben and Oliver spent together and interacted, I also liked that Julie was in this book and she was a good friend to Oliver.

Overall, this was a cute book and I enjoyed it way more than the first book. I would definitely recommend this book, it was cute and the romance will leave you wanting more.
