Josie Byrne's life is spiraling out of control. And just when she thinks it can't get worse, she wakes to an image of herself in the bedroom mirror. Except it's not her at all—the girl in the mirror is blonder and prettier. And her name is Jo.

The two girls are doppelgängers whose universes overlap every twelve hours at 3:59. Fascinated by Jo's perfect world, Josie jumps at the chance to pass through the portal and switch places for a day.

But Jo's world is far from perfect, and the stuff of nightmares lurks around every corner. And when Josie finds herself trapped there, her life becomes more dangerous—and more deadly—than she ever imagined.

Josie’s life seems to be spiraling out of control but things get weird when Josie sees herself or a girl who looks exactly like her in a mirror, it turns out that the girls are doppelgängers. Every 12 hours their universes overlap and Josie thinks that Jo lives a better life than her jumps at the opportunity to switch places for 24 hours. But Jo’s world isn’t as perfect as it seemed and now Josie is trapped there and has to find a way back home. I love books by Gretchen McNeil so I was excited to finally read 3:59, I throughly enjoyed it. We mainly read from Josie’s point of view but at 3:59 we get to see a few things from Jo’s POV as well. There were so many twist and turns that I didn’t know what to expect or who to trust. I liked feeling like I was with Josie on a journey, she had to use everything she knew about physics to figure out how to get back home. I also liked how Josie learned how things may look better on the other side but it’s not always what you think. The people in Jo’s world don’t really trust her so it was hard for Josie to earn their trust and it was interesting to see how everything worked out. I wasn’t expecting most of the things that happened but it just kept me on the edge of my seat. 3:59 is definitely a page turner and I would recommend it!

They could be hunting you.
Hunted. Kidnapped. Bled. Someone is snatching girls and draining them for a secret that's in their blood. A hormone that makes them stronger, faster, smarter. A hormone that the makers of a new drug called Destiny will murder to get their hands on. These girls could be anyone. They could be anywhere.

They could be you.

When Skylar discovers she's a Greater-Than, a girl with terrifying power, her life will never be the same. The only way to stay alive is to join the fight against Destiny and become the ultimate weapon.

HOLY CRAP! In Night Sky the Brockmann Mother/Daughter team give readers a taste of excellent writing paired with genius storytelling! I am absolutely in L-O-V-E with Sky, Milo, Dana and Cal! I MUST know what happens next!!! I admit I’m obsessed with all things paranormal, scifi, urban fantasy and I get it all in Night Sky! There always comes a certain point in a book when you know you are falling in love with the characters, getting so attached you know eventually your heart will probably be smashed to smithereens and patched back together…eventually! I knew Night Sky was going to be one of my favorites within the first chapter, YES it’s that good!

First things first, the characters just plain rock! Skylar is the new girl living among Florida’s elite upper crust. She’s a little awkward and deep in the dark about her “greater-than” status. This means she has special abilities like telekinesis and can run superfast. However, she has no idea what is going on or how she is doing these things and more importantly she’s concerned she is going insane! Thankfully she has her new BFF Cal to keep her calm and laughing! Calvin “Cal” for short brings the humor to Night Sky! I adore Cal, his wheelchair and his ongoing game of “would you rather…” Then we have Motorcycle Girl, Dana, a greater-than with killer skills and awesome sarcastic wit. She is the perfect mentor for Sky. Milo is Dana’s brooding best friend. He is sweet, handsome and yes ladies he has a special connection to Sky that will almost certainly make you swoon! But you know how it goes the road is not smooth sailing for these two! Lastly, we have Skylar’s mom who is a bit annoying at times however I can’t help but like her and the adorable Sasha, who I want to give a big squeeze!

The main Arc of Night Sky revolves around Sasha. She is kidnapped in the middle of the night from her bedroom. Sky is heartbroken and determined to help find the little girl. This plot gives the reader a chance to learn so much about Sky and her friends and we get to go on a sensational journey with them. This fast-paced thriller keeps things moving through the climactic finish! NOW, I’m ready to devour my lovely ARC of the next book in the series WILD SKY! WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Night Sky is an EPIC Read!! I give it SIX huge Wonderland Hearts!

In this pulse-pounding prequel to the Night Sky series by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Suzanne Brockmann and her daughter Melanie Brockmann, Skylar has her first brush with Destiny. She's about to meet a boy who will change her life—and a girl who wants to end it.

I know her.
Know her from inside the dreams. Inside those terrible, murderous, bloody dreams. I've heard her-screaming, her voice mixing in an awful chorus with all those other girls. Little girls.
Please, God.
That's what one of the little girls keeps saying, in the dream that is not just a dream. Please, God.
But I know better. There's no escaping this fate. This is destiny.
I must kill Skylar.

Skylar Reid is the new girl at school. Her mom just moved them to Florida—aka The Land of the Living Dead where the average age of her new neighbors was seventy-five—to start over. Skylar is not a fan of the change or her total lack of friends. Until she meets Calvin, a funny, sarcastic boy who doesn't let being in a wheelchair stop him from verbally shredding their preppy classmates. Skylar's just about to decide her new school's not a total loss when an odd girl wearing an oversized trench coat in the murderous Southern heat declares, "You're one of us." And then tries to kill her.

Don't miss out on YA's most thrilling new series.

Dangerous Destiny is a prequel to the Brockmann’s first book in their young adult series, Night SkyDangerous Destiny takes us into the life of Skylar Reid.  Skylar and her mother have just moved to Coconut Key, Florida.  Sky is not happy about the move one bit but it’s obvious this tough cookie can roll with the punches.  This turns out to be a good thing since her first few days of school end in gun fire.

Dangerous Destiny is so exciting your heart will pound out of your chest!  I love when I become so absorbed in a book that I forget the page numbers as I plunge from one to the next so fast!  The only bad thing is the book is over way too soon! I swear I screamed “Nooooooooo” when I found myself shockingly on the final page of Dangerous Destiny!  I immediately let my fingers take me to Amazon and ordered the first book in the series, Night Sky!

Dangerous Destiny is almost perfect! I give it Four Wonderland Hearts!

Dangerous Destiny is FREE on Amazon at the time of posting!

Resonance is the thrilling sequel to Dissonance and it isn’t a disappointment.

As a Walker between worlds, Del is responsible for the love of her life and the fate of millions. In Dissonance Del risked everything to save Simon, and now he’s gone, off in another world with no way for Del to find him. Del is back at the Consort training to be a Walker like everyone in her family. But the Free Walkers have other plans for her. This rebel group is trying to convince Del that the Consort is evil, and that her parents are unknowingly helping the Consort kill millions of people. The Free Walkers make Del the ultimate promise: if Del joins their fight, she will be reunited with Simon. In agreeing, Del might be endangering her family. But if she doesn’t, innocent people will die, and Simon will be lost forever. The fate of the multiverse depends on her choice.

Del is still grieving from Simon’s departure into a different world, but she refuses to believe he is gone forever. When the Free Walkers reach out to Del and tell her that Simon might be safe, Del wants proof. Del must choose to help the Free Walkers and see Simon – or work for the Consort. With Monty in an oubliette and Lattimer forcing Del to interrogate Monty about the “weapon” the Free Walkers have, Del knows what she will do. Worlds are at stake, lives are at stake, Del’s life is at stake, but nothing will stop her from righting wrongs and stopping the destruction of the multiverse.

I still remember when I read Dissonance and my heart was broken over the ending. It didn’t take long, once I started reading Resonance, for O’Rourke to piece my heart back together. Del finds out that there is a chance that Simon is alive and unharmed; she fights to know more, to find him, and to bring him back. So many secrets are revealed in this book, and many surround Simon.

There were so many twists in this book, so many secrets! A lot of things started to come together and make sense. I Loved it!

In Dissonance Del was impulsive and reckless, but by the end of Resonance, it’s clear that she has matured throughout the series, though she remains impulsive and temperamental. I liked Del in Dissonance, and I liked her in this book. She might be impulsive, but she’s a determined and strong young lady who knows how to make up her mind.

Simon is very much present throughout the book, in one way or another. It’s pretty interesting to see how O’Rourke brings him back into the story, and this occurs fairly quickly. Simon is his usual hilarious, overconfident self, and I love him!

I love the romance between Del and Simon, they’re magical together! And quite steamy, too. Simon is very laid back and a bit cocky, and Del is a rule-breaker and impulsive – the combination is really good! Both of them move worlds to find each other and both of them love with their whole hearts.

I would highly recommend Resonance and if you haven’t read Dissonance then you should read that too! Resonance is now one of my favorite books and Erica O’Rourke is one of my favorite authors! By the way guys this is a duology. Dissonance and Resonance are intriguing, exciting and highly original! Go check these books out!
