For as long as she can remember, Katarina has been a part of the family business—thieving. When Kat tries to leave “the life” for a normal life, her old friend Hale conspires to bring her back into the fold. Why? A mobster’s art collection has been stolen, and Kat’s father is the only suspect. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat’s dad needs her help.

The only solution is to find the paintings and steal them back. Kat’s got two weeks, a teenage crew, and hopefully enough talent to pull off the biggest heist in her family’s history—and, with any luck, steal her life back along the way.

Short and Sweet Review

Katarina is a skilled thief, it’s apart of the family business, but she wants to live a normal life so she decides to leave the business behind and go to a boarding school. Living a normal life is harder than Katarina thought it would be because soon Kat’s friend Hale and former co-conspirator is trying to bring her back into the life she tried to leave. After learning that a mobster has been robbed of his art collection and her father is the only suspect Kat knows that she needs to clear his name. Kat is given two weeks to get the paintings back so she puts together a crew and gets started. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it’s so fast paced and kept my attention. Kat is a good lead, she’s smart, but she’s a little out of practice. Kat knows this job is dangerous and if she fails that means something will happen to her dad and she’s determined not to let anything happen to him. All of the characters are great they make a good team, they each have their own skill set. Of all the characters Hale and Kat have chemistry I think they’d be a good couple but they have more of a friend/business relationship, by the way Kat doesn’t know Hales first name and now I’m trying to figure it out too. Anyway Kat has to break into a museum and steal the paintings and this will be the biggest job she’s ever done and the museum is The Henley so it has top notch security. I would continue on with the series in the future, but I liked the plot, the characters, and the pacing of this book. I would definitely recommend this book especially if you’re in the mood to read about a heist!
