Short and Sweet Review
Stevie’s superstar older sister is back in town to kick off her concert tour. When the concert starts and Blair doesn’t start singing people immediately realize something is wrong. Blair was murdered and Stevie is determined to figure out what happened.
Blair Baker has been murdered minutes before her concert. Her family is in the VIP section waiting to hear her sing but instead they leave the stadium without answers and a daughter who just met her demise. Stevie is upset but is also determined to figure out what happened. Years before Stevie’s cousin Mia went missing and Stevie tried to figure out what happened but never did, but she’s not going to let that happen with Blair’s case. Stevie gets help from one of Blair’s biggest fans Colby. At first Colby seems like she could be another suspect but she ends up in the clear and a good ally to Stevie although a bit too eager. Stevie and Colby get in trouble often for getting in the way of the police and this bothered me a lot mainly because these two had the capability of being more discreet they just didn’t take it, and it was more than two times that they got scolded for interfering. I was able to solve the Mia and Blair mysteries but there was this other mystery thrown in that absolutely threw me and it made sense but didn’t because it really came out of left field. I liked seeing Stevie and Colby find clues and chase suspects. It was also interesting to see how much Stevie had to dig into her own family’s secrets to help her solve Blairs murder. The ending was good and after everything that happened it was an expected ending.
Overall, the mystery in this book was good and I liked our characters, I do wish they made better decisions. The secrets that were revealed were pretty juicy and I did enjoy seeing Stevie make sense of everything and put all of the pieces together. There were some minor things that I didn’t like when it came to Stevie’s methods but oh well. I would recommend this book especially if you like mysteries and a bit of chaos.
